Around the turn of the 20th century, the French-speaking writer and poet Guillaume Apollinaire led a turbulent life. Three failed loves, a shell fragment that pierced his helmet and head during World War I, and later a friendship with Picasso—all ending with his premature death at a young age as one of the first Dadaist artists. A life marked by hardship gave rise to written drawings, where language and image were fused together. And finally, to a room in Hotel Central featuring three poetic visual poems from the collection Calligrammes, inviting guests to dream away. To then awaken in a comfortable bed, enjoy a bathroom with allure, and have breakfast from a fully equipped kitchenette.
